Surviving January

Surviving January

January can be one of those months that feels like it is going to stretch on forever.

With the winter weather well and truly settling in - where I come from at least - sometimes it can be hard for us to feel cheery and most importantly for us to survive the month. I thought that I would put together some tips on how I feel is the best way to get through to February.

Take Some Time For You
It's always important to take some time for yourself but no more so than in January. This is the start of a brand new year, the end of a busy festive period and in many ways it can be very daunting - it doesn't have to be. During the week or at the end of it have a pamper night, or finish reading that book. Just do something that allows you to relax and be happy.

Embrace The Good Moments
When something good happens this month, embrace it. The more you allow yourself to take some time to embrace the good moments the more these will happen. It will allow you become more positive and that in turn will have a very positive effect on your life.

Don't Linger On The Bad Moments
We all have moments where life doesn't go as it's planned and January can feel that way quite regularly. This being said however, holding on to those negative moments can slowly bring you down. We shouldn't let this happen though. This is a brand new month, of a brand new year and we should try each day to make it the best it can be.

Set Goals For The Month
A great way to feel positive everyday is to set yourself goals - achievable ones - that you can work towards throughout the month. Write them down on your computer, or on a piece of paper - somewhere that you can see it everyday - so that you can be energised by it and push yourself to tick them all off by the end of the month.

Organise Nights In With Friends
When the nights feel long it can bring your mood down and for me the best way to bring my mood up is always to spend nights with my friends. Organise a movie night, or even for them to come over for a cup of tea or coffee. A chat and a laugh with the people dearest to you in your life is always the best way to keep you positive.

Have a Clear Out
It's the start of a brand new year so what better time could there be to have a clear out. De-clutter your space that you haven't gotten around to yet, donate those clothes that you have been meaning to do for months. Tidy up your space and you will have a tidier mind.

There we have it, some of my top tips for surviving January. I hope you all have a brilliant month and start as you mean to go on.

Have you any tips?  I'd love to hear them :)
