L'Oreal Extraordinary Clay To Spray Dry Shampoo - First Impressions

L'Oreal Extraordinary Clay To Spray Dry Shampoo, Hair

When I reviewed the L'Oreal Extraordinary Clay  range previously, I had mentioned that I had yet to pick up the dry shampoo. Since then I found a great offer on this product in Superdrug and decided to add it to my basket.

I am quite odd about my dry shampoos but since I had such great success with the shampoo, conditioner and pre-shampoo masque, I thought that it would be worth trying out. Having very blonde hair means that I don't mind about there being a small amount of white residue as it tends to lift the colour of my roots. My main priority with a dry shampoo is that it smells great and works really well.

With all the expectations I had from the shampoo range I have to say that I was slightly underwhelmed. I have tried quite a few dry shampoo's and I didn't get the instantaneous results that I expected. I'm not sure what I expected from it to be honest but I felt a little disappointed and again I don't really know why.

If I look closer at this item I can say that the smell of it is gorgeous. It's a very clean, fresh scent that I like through my hair. It lasts well and when my hair would get blown about during the day I could smell the scent lingering through it. Something else that I quite liked about this item was that it states on the front that it has an invisible finish and I have to say that it does.

I find that if you use this as part of the clay range system then the results are everything you expect them to be but if you haven't washed your hair with the shampoo and conditioner - and possibly the masque - then I find that it doesn't always absorb the oil in my hair just as well. This could just be me however, my hair tends to get exceptionally greasy as I play with it alot, especially when putting it up into a bun or a ponytail and pushing it back outa the way of my face.

I think that on a day-to-day basis I would probably lean more for other dry shampoo's such as the Superdrug own range as they seem to instantly refresh my hair and give it a boost. I do like how fine the 'Clay to Spray' is however, and that it doesn't weigh down my hair at all. If I used the shampoo system every time I washed my hair - which I don't as my hair is dyed blonde and therefore, needs some toners and specialised shampoo in order to maintain the colour - then this dry shampoo would fulfill my every need.

Overall, I think it's safe to say that I do like this shampoo, it's just not all I had hoped for.

Have you tried this dry shampoo?
