Our furry best friends, they mean the world to us. I don't know about you but there is nothing my Molly loves more than getting into mischief and this can be especially true round the festive period. There are so many things that can cause our four legged friends harm round this time of year.
With that in mind I thought I would put together my top tips for keeping your favourite friends safe at Christmas time.
1. Stay away from edible decorations on your tree - unless you want it to be destroyed.
2. Don't be giving them any chocolate treats - chocolate its poisonous to dogs!
3. Don't give them turkey bones - they can splinter and cause your best friend damage.
4. If you have a real tree hoover regularly so that the pine needles can't be ingested.
5. Keep electrical cables out of reach so they can't be chewed through - cause they will be!
6. Have treats ready if you are having guests over to distract and keep your friend calm.
7. Don't keep edible presents under the tree - unless you want them opened before the big day!
8. Ensure all Christmas decorations are non-toxic, just incase they get their teeth round them.
9. If you have hyper pets, long walks will help keep them calm during busy periods.
10. If you have a nervous pet create a safe place for them where they can relax.
These are my top tips to keep your dog safe during the festive period.
What are your top tips?
